Kitchener Public Library is seeking applications for the position of Librarian, Teen Services. In taking on this rewarding opportunity, you will take a vital role in the development, planning and delivery of services and programs for teens. You will have a solid understanding of teen literature, be capable of supporting and developing partnership opportunities and representing the library within the community. You will provide an advanced level of reference, readers’ advisory and technology support services and services related to the circulation of materials. As a professional librarian at Kitchener Public Library, you will exercise your supervisory skills to support the department and act as the scheduled Person-in-Charge to ensure the smooth operation of the Library system.

We invite you to apply if you are comfortable working independently, are able to demonstrate initiative in the development of new projects and are interested in being a member of the Kitchener Public Library’s Children’s & Teen Services team. Our ideal candidate will also possess demonstrated experience working with teens; interpersonal and communication skills including group presentation skills; teamwork, organizational and problem solving abilities; experience in creating and maintaining partnerships with community agencies and organizations; and have the ability to create innovative library programs for teens. An MLS, MIS, or MLIS is also a requirement of this position.

Salary range $59,031 – $68,500
