In 2021, ViMLoC conducted its second comprehensive survey on visible minority librarians of Canada. We are pleased to publish summary results for 162 respondents including 138 from the English survey and 24 from the French survey. As a follow-up to the first 2013 survey, the 2021 Redux Survey provided an update on their demographics and education, while capturing more details about their experiences in the workplace such as microaggressions. Data management plan, questionnaire, and summary results are available for download here: https://doi.org/10.5683/SP3/F4LNZO.
These surveys are few sources of information that provide a demographic snapshot of working visible minority librarians in Canada. The data can be useful to library administrators, librarians, and researchers working on multicultural issues, diversity, recruitment and retention, leadership, library management, and other related areas.
