The Atlantic Provinces Library Association’s (APLA) 2022 Conference Committee invites proposals to be considered for presentation at the 2022 virtual annual conference from Tuesday, June 7th – Friday June 10th.
The theme of this year’s conference is: Bridging the Gap: Inclusion and Diversity in Libraries/Réduire les barrières : l’inclusion et la diversité dans les bibliothèques!
Libraries are for everyone. We are seeking proposals that showcase initiatives in regards to cataloguing, programming, staffing, collections, spaces, policy and/or services that address diversity and inclusion in libraries. Yes, it is a ‘library’ Conference BUT we would love to hear information from other groups and organizations about what they do and how libraries might incorporate their knowledge and/or resources into our practices, spaces, collections, and programs to better serve diverse populations.
‘Proposals’ need not be very in depth, just a quick overview of topics you might cover about the work that you already do and that we could learn from.
Please see the attached document for more details on the submission process. If there are any questions, please email: aplaconference2022@gmail.com
More information on the 2022 conference can be found at: http://apla2022conference.ca
Please note that the deadline of February 14th will be extended until the end of the month
