Knowledge organization and nations ISKO workshop

Hannah Turner, Melissa Adler, and Julia Bullard invite all interested to a half-day workshop on Knowledge Organization and Nations. The workshop will be held July 7th at this year’s International Society for Knowledge Organization (ISKO) conference, with hybrid participation options. Read the PDF document with full details, including a request for short position papers to scope topics in the area.

We welcome students, practitioners, and researchers of all stages interested in:

  • Histories of the development of national or anti-colonial knowledge organization systems
  • Close readings of knowledge organization systems against state politics
  • Comparative studies of knowledge organization across borders
  • Land-based classification practices, including border control and establishing claims to land

  • April 18 Position papers due
  • May 6 Notice of acceptance to participants
  • May 15 Early bird registration deadline for ISKO 2022 (member, student, and virtual rates available)
