How to participate

Who

Academic information researchers (UBC iSchool alumni), in partnership with the BC Library Association, funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) of Canada, are conducting this study.

Those eligible to participate in the study:

  •   Reside in Canada;
  •   Are 19 years of age or older;
  •   Work or have worked in a Canadian library;
  •   Speak and understand spoken English; and
  •   Have experienced challenges related to intellectual freedom and/or medical disinformation in their role or job with a Canadian library.

What

A new study using individual interviews to understand the experiences of Canadian libraries and library workers negotiating intellectual freedom challenges pertaining to medical disinformation.

When

We will be collecting data this summer (2022).

Where

Interviews will take place online (via Zoom) or by phone. All data will be kept securely at UBC and de-identified before analysis.
