Humanities and Social Sciences Librarian, two-year term appointment 0.8 FTE
Applications are invited from qualified individuals for a 0.8 FTE 2-year term librarian position with the University Library. We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, and flexible individual with the appropriate skills and qualifications to work collaboratively as part of our team. The appointee will have liaison responsibilities for a collection of humanities and social sciences departments including philosophy; art/art history; languages, literatures, and cultural studies; linguistics; and religion and culture and will also contribute to library-wide projects and priorities. The focus of the position will be on instruction and research support to students and faculty in the assigned areas. Based on knowledge and interest, the candidate will be assigned to one of the library’s four divisions (Research Support Services, Learning and Curriculum Support, Collections and Discovery, and University Archives and Special Collections).
Reporting to the Dean through one of the library’s divisions, aligned with the candidate’s skills and interests where possible, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing high quality services that support faculty teaching and research, and student learning and success including:
- designing and delivering information literacy instruction, both in-person and online
- developing high quality collections of digital and print resources in assigned disciplinary areas
- providing information services, including research consultations and support
- Building collaborative relationships with stakeholder groups to advance learning and research
- Working as part of teams across the library to advance strategic areas including scholarly communication, student experience, and decolonization of services, collections and spaces

Qualifications
An ALA-accredited Master of Library and Information Science degree or equivalent is required for this appointment. Professional librarian experience is preferred.

Salary bands for this position for the 2022-2023 academic year are as follows: Assistant Librarian: $83,150 to $99,945; Associate Librarian: $99,945 to $120,099; Librarian: $120,099 to $144, 378, prorated to 0.8 FTE. It is anticipated that this position will be filled at the Assistant level. Starting salary will be calculated from the base salary with consideration given for previous librarian experience.
