ORGANIZATIONAL PROFILE
Public Library InterLINK (InterLINK) is a library federation constituted under Section 49 of the Library Act. The 18 member libraries are in the Metro Vancouver, Fraser Valley, Sunshine Coast and Sea-to-Sky Corridor of the Province of British Columbia. These member libraries serve over 60% of the population of BC and work cooperatively with library partners across the province.
InterLINK serves its member libraries by facilitating open access to the physical collections of member libraries for anyone living in the Federation’s service area. InterLINK provides a framework that allows member libraries to develop programs and services of mutual benefit. InterLINK is governed by a Board consisting of one member from each of the member library boards. Library Directors sit on the Administrators Advisory Group and provide operational advice.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director provides leadership and management to ensure the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic direction, operational plans and initiatives, and programs. The Executive Director plays an active role provincially, supporting the library sector, through advocacy, engagement, and leadership. This position is integral to the development and delivery of member services that align with organizational mandate and evolving member needs.
This is a challenging and dynamic opportunity for an innovative professional who is committed to driving and shaping the public library sector. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational abilities with excellent interpersonal, operational, and strategic planning skills, and a commitment to member services. The ideal candidate brings demonstrated leadership, independent judgment, tact, diplomacy, and initiative. The candidate will have education, training, and/or professional development with the ability to work in a team environment and foster collaboration among diverse organizations and stakeholders.
The hiring salary range is $131,000 – $160,000 and an excellent benefits package.
