Call for Submission, Public Libraries Association

Public Libraries Association, a division of ALA.

Below are two opportunities to be involved with the Public Libraries Association, a division of ALA.

PLA 2024 Conference

The program proposal site for the 2024 PLA Conference is now open, and we encourage those who have an idea for a presentation or workshop to submit a proposal. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with public library professionals from across the country and share expertise.

The deadline for submitting proposals is May 1, 2023, at 11:59 PM Eastern.

Write for Public Libraries Magazine

Additionally, the PLA webinar proposal site is accepting proposals through May 31, 2023.

Public Libraries magazine is published bimonthly and reaches more than 9,000 readers. Along with our blog and podcast, the magazine provides national exposure for authors and informs and influences the development of public library programs and services. We believe that diverse stories have the power to educate, inspire, and bring people together. By working together, we can help create a more inclusive and equitable world, one story at a time.

Upcoming magazine issues include a focus on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in the July/August issue; Library Leadership in the September/October issue; and Library Data in November/December.

Writing guidelines and more information about the submission process are available on the PLA website. We also offer opportunities for contributing shorter articles to Public Libraries Online.
