Collections Librarian

As a Collections Librarian, you will take the lead on developing holistic collections processes and procedures across the system, as well as oversee various collections activities and initiatives within the department. Taking a user-centered approach, you will work with various teams and stakeholders to ensure WPL collections are relevant and responsive to community needs. Interested?
What you’ll do:
Oversee system-wide collection maintenance processes and procedures ensuring consistency and resolution of issues and challenges
Supervise daily operational processes in the Collections Department
Maintain and evaluate assigned collections
Run reports and provide recommendations based on data and statistic analysis
Work with various departments and the community to build and mobilize relevant collections for customers
Act as person in charge (PIC) regularly at branch locations
What we’re looking for:
Masters of Library Science (MLIS) required.
Minimum 2 years’ practical work experience in a library. Collection development experience is an asset
Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills. Demonstrated team player
Excellent organization and time management
High attention to detail and ability to analyze data and develop recommendations
Problem solving and decision making skills
Excellent technology aptitude and strong awareness of emerging technology
The regular schedule will be Monday 1:00 – 9:00 p.m., Tuesday – Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., alternating Fridays/Saturdays 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Schedules are subject to change. The ability to work at any library location is required.
The starting wage $68,213 annually (level F). Benefits and OMERS pension provided. WPL offers a
