ViMLoC at OLA Super Conference 2026

If you are planning OLA Super Conference in Toronto this year, there are many ways to meet people from our network in person.

On Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, ViMLoC is hosting a meet up in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre Room 203D. Meet Naz Torabi and Victoria Ho (both from UofT) from ViMLoC and connect with others. This is an informal session, so stop by when you can.

On Friday, January 30, 2026 from 10:45 AM to 12:00 PM, in MTCC room 203C, our like-minded friends from Ontario Library Association’s Cultural Diversity and Inclusion Committee will be hosting a session called “Persisting Cultural Identities: A Holding Space for IBPOC Library Workers”. We invite all library workers who identify as Indigenous, Black, and People of Colour (IBPOC) to join an open and collaborative roundtable exploring the persistence of cultural identity and the evolving landscape of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI)in library work. Through guided conversations, icebreakers, and collective reflection, participants will share lived experiences, challenges, and successes in navigating professional environments while staying true to their cultural identities. Participants will also engage in meaningful dialogue about strategies for self-advocacy and advancing EDI within library institutions. This session aims to identify ways to strengthen community connections, amplify IBPOC voices and envision a more inclusive future for libraries in Canada. This session is for library workers who self-identify as IBPOC.
